    [Pound Pals trusts that your children are experienced with and kind to animals. It is your responsibility to supervise your children when interacting with any foster pet. Please note: Because we cannot know all the personalities and behaviors of the children, we will not place our dogs in homes that have a baby sitting / day care home business.]

  • Though Pound Pals does not accept vicious dogs into our program, we do not know the histories of many of our rescues. Are you prepared to contact us immediately if your foster dog bites anyone, injures another pet or becomes injured?*
  • Will you keep the dog confined in a fenced yard when let outdoors, walk/exercise the dog regularly, and allow the dog indoors?*

  • Pound Pals does not place animals in foster homes where a person in the home has been charged with animal cruelty, abuse or neglect. Has anyone in your home been charged with animal cruelty, abuse or neglect?*
  • Pound Pals does not reimburse fosters for medical expenses. All medical treatments and visits must be pre-approved through Pound Pals. All foster pets under this application must be treated at approved Pound Pals' Vet Clinics. Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Pound Pals does not allow fosters to make placements, rehome or give away the fostered pet. All adoptions must be conducted through Pound Pals. Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • If you decide you can no longer foster this pet, you must give Pound Pals adequate time to make arrangements to place the pet with another foster and arrange for transportation. You should give at least 14 days notice.Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Pound Pals does not allow fosters to surrender fostered pets to animal shelters. If you surrender this pet to a shelter Pound Pals can and will pursue legal action against you and you will be required to pay all costs involved. Do you agree not to surrender this animal to any shelter? *
  • If an emergency arises, you must contact Pound Pals immediately. Do you understand and agree to this condition? *
  • Adoption information is confidential. Do you agree to keep all adoption information confidential? *
  • Pound Pals does not allow foster pets to be chained, staked, muzzled, drugged or tied. Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Pound Pals does not allow fosters to hit, strike, harass, annoy, or prevoke any fostered pet. Do you understand and agree to these conditions?*
  • Pound Pals does not allow fostered animals to be breed or fought. Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Pound Pals requires that this animal be kept in clean living conditions and have sturdy shelter at all times. Do you understand and agree to these conditions?*
  • Some shelter animals are not spayed or neutered when they come into our program. However, most shelters require that we have the pet spayed or neutered before being adopted. Are you willing to take this pet to his spay/neuter appointment, pick the pet up from the clinic on time, follow the clinic's instructions for after care and recovery and contact Pound Pals immediately if any medical problems arise from the surgery? *

  • Special conditions apply to senior/special needs foster dogs: In general, geriatric pets will not be spayed/neutered due to the risk involved. Do you understand these conditions?*
  • All pets in foster care must be current on their rabies shot and their rabies tag must be securely affixed to their collar at all times. The collar must be worn by the pet at all times. Do you understand and agree to these terms and conditions? *
  • Letter of Exemption

    (If you are fostering a geriatric pet who cannot be vaccinated, you will have a copy of the letter of exemption)

  • Pound Pals reserves the right to refuse any foster application for any reason. Pound Pals also reserves the right to remove any foster pet for any reason with or without notice. Do you understand and agree to these terms and conditions? *
  • If you plan to move, you must notify Pound Pals immediately. We do not allow our pets to be taken outside approved areas.Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Dogs are not guaranteed to be house trained. Dog's can damage items, chew, bite, bark, urinate and deficate. Do you agree to hold Pound Pals harmless should any of this incidents occur?*
  • Pound Pals requires that all foster pets have clean fresh drinking water accessible at all times. Pound Pals also requires that all foster pets be fed regularly (at least once per day).Do you understand and agree to these conditions? *
  • Pound Pals requires that all chemicals and hazardous materials be kept away from foster pets at all times (such as antifreeze/ dogs can easily chew through the container). If a pet is poisioned while in your care, you are required to provide (immediate) emergency medical care through a licensed vet. Do you understand and agree to these conditions?*

  • Shelter pets can carry a variety of diseases that often go undetected by shelter employees. Since we are responsible for the medical expenses of this pet, we must limit the number of risk that we will allow the pet to be exposed to. In an effort to do this, we require that you notify us 10 days prior to accepting a new foster pet especially if the pet is coming from or has been in a shelter within the last 10 days so that we are given an opportunity to remove our pet.   • If you are fostering more than 20 miles from the DFW area and decide that you can no longer foster the pet, you will be required to transport the pet back to the area. Do you agree to transport the pet back to this area at an agreed upon date, place and time if you can no longer foster the pet?*
